Xiamen International Container Terminals (XICT), which commenced operations in 1997, is located at the Haicang Port Zone in the Xiamen Special Economic Zone in Fujian Province. The deep-water facility has a depth alongside of up to 17.5 metres and is equipped with the most advanced super-post Panamax quay cranes. Its 1,083-metre-long quay can accommodate three of the largest modern container vessels simultaneously.
Located near major export-production bases, XICT has emerged as an important international shipping centre serving southeast China, offering convenient services to the US, Europe, the Mediterranean, Australia and elsewhere. Since 2005, annual throughput at XICT has exceeded 1 million TEU. |
