Shanghai Container Terminals (SCT) is a joint venture between HPH and Shanghai International Port Group, and is composed of three terminals: Zhanghuabang, Jungonglu and Baoshan.
SCT is located on the west bank of the Huangpu River near the Yangtze River junction. This placement puts the company in close proximity to cargo sources in Shanghai and neighbouring cities. This location also allows SCT to easily meet the needs of both international and domestic shipping.
SCT was the first joint-venture container terminal established in mainland China. Since its founding, the company has made significant contributions to Shanghai's port development through the application of advanced IT systems and the training of local staff.
SCT is now a strong driver of standardisation and the enhancement of domestic cargo operations. Its modern ship-planning system coordinates container loading and discharging, while other advanced systems, such as EDI linkages, streamline communications between the terminal and shippers. |
