Introduction

ECT Delta Terminal was established in 1984. It is located at the Maasvlakte, on the North Sea coast near Rotterdam, a unique deep-water location which offers three fully automated terminals: Delta North, East and West.

All three Delta facilities are integrated. This boosts the handling speed, efficiency and reliability of ECT operations in terms of both loading and discharging of ships and integrated barge and river transport within Europe.

ECT Delta Terminal enjoys unrestricted access from the North Sea, without locks or tidal restrictions. With 36 post-Panamax quay cranes, a depth alongside of up to 16.65 metres, and 3.6 kilometres of quay, the Delta complex can handle containerships of over 10,000 TEU. It can also simultaneously accommodate large numbers of deep-sea vessels, feeders and barges.

The ECT Delta complex also incorporates two rail terminals and an inland shipping terminal. The huge distribution park flanking the terminal is the ideal departure for European distribution.

On the north side of the complex is the new ECT Euromax Terminal. It is capable of handling the largest deep-sea vessels afloat.
